About Us

Coginta is a Swiss non-governmental organization, recognized as serving the public interest, that works to promote economic and social development by addressing the structural causes of instability, poverty, and exclusion. Its work lies at the intersection of territorial and security governance, conflict prevention, natural resource management, and socio-economic development, recognizing that these dimensions are closely linked and essential to stability and social cohesion.

Coginta supports public, community, and private actors in risk management, particularly in fragile contexts or those affected by tensions related to access to resources, governance deficits, or crime. It promotes inclusive mechanisms for dialogue, mediation, and the peaceful resolution of disputes, while strengthening institutional capacity and the accountability of state institutions.

Through its commitment to justice and the rule of law, Coginta supports improved equitable access to justice, the fight against impunity, and the performance of institutions in order to strengthen trust between citizens and authorities. It pays particular attention to vulnerable groups, ensuring the integration of human rights and equity principles.
